TABLE TENNIS in RALEIGH
Table Tennis Play Times: The Brier Creek Community Center gymnasium will be open each Friday evening for open play table tennis from 6:30pm – 10pm. Brier Creek is located very near the RDU airport -- Directions are below. (Note: On Friday evenings, all table tennis equipment must be put up AND all of us p_layer_s should be outside by 9:55pm so that the center can be closed by the staff at 10pm. Let’s all PLEASE abide by this from the start so we can stay on the staff’s good side! Thanks!).
For now, the table tennis program is in a “trial period” at Brier Creek. After a few months, it will be evaluated for becoming a “permanent” program. It would be great for our group if Friday night attendance stayed solid and our enthusiasm was high. Please take every opportunity to thank the staff. Please take care of the facility and the grounds. Etc., etc.,….
You can arrive any time during table tennis hours. Don’t be shy, just ask someone to play or ask to play the “winner” on a table.
Brier Creek is a wonderful facility (lights, flooring, A/C, lots of space, etc., etc.), and the staff has been most helpful and encouraging. We are looking forward to a long and mutually beneficial relationship with Brier Creek and the City of Raleigh. Let’s make sure that happens!
Fees: The City of Raleigh does collect fees for use of the facility for table tennis.
Payment: Acceptable ways to pay are cash (please bring exact change), personal check, money order, VISA, and MasterCard.
Fee Structure:
Raleigh Residents:
1 visit at a time…...$ 4 This is a good deal ($4 per session)
5-session pass……$15 This is a better deal ($3 per session)
15-session pass……$30 This is the best deal ($2 per session)
Note: The Raleigh City Council has mandated that non-residents pay a flat fee of $7 in addition to the resident fee for multi-session passes. Therefore,
Non-Residents:
1 visit at a time $ 4 This is a good deal ($4 per session)
5-session pass $22 (ie, $15 + $7) This is a bad deal ($4.40 per session)
15-session pass $37 (ie, $30 + $7) This is the best deal ($2.47 per session)
After the end of this year, a higher number of passes will probably be available so that the per session cost would be even more favorable. When this happens, I will let you know.
Attendance Records: If you purchase a multi-session pass, the Center staff will record it on a notecard. The staff will keep the cards in a file. You will not get a card to carry with you. Each Friday when you arrive, you will show a picture ID and the staff will mark one session off of your card.
Information Form & Waivers: The first time you come to Brier Creek for table tennis, you will need to fill out an information form. You will also need to sign a waiver; you only need to do this once, not every week.
