Hi,

Has anyone out there or your friends taken flight from RDU to London Gatwick and onward to India (assuming one more stop in Gulf) ?

If yes can you please share your experience (good and bad)?

My mom flew Emirates on the same route. To her surprise, the service was excellent..not to mention the flight was pretty cheap as compared to other airlines. only problem with the emirates flight is the # of stops - 3.

One quick question - did your Mom travel into the Unites States w/ RDU as port of Entry? 'coz I have never seen a Customs/Immigration counters in RDU so am curious in your Mom's case.

RDU -- JFK -- London -- Dubai -- Mumbai

JFK was port of entry.

Basically I was more interested from RDU --> Non-Stop --> LGW (Gatwick) and then from LGW --> Non-Stop Dubai --> Chennai.

American Airlines has a non-stop from RDU to LGW almost everyday and Emirates has flights from LGW to DXB and to Chennai. Sounds very tempting to take this route but wanted to know from some one who has been thru' this route.

Yeah..sorry...I dont think the travel agents get a hefty commission from the RDU-london flights..and possibly thats why they never provide that option You may wanna check with RDU helpdesk abt customs / immigration questions etc.
